During the Nijmegen Four-Day Walk (2019), Effe Soep provided all 1,000 Red Cross volunteers with a tasty soup. In large tents, walkers’ blisters were pricked and feet massaged to ensure they could continue walking. Since about 40,000 people walk along during the Four Days Marches, this is a huge organization. Walkers who need to be invigorated are given a nice cup of broth to recover.
